Your jokes might be a torture

Bully is a common thing in the world nowadays, some practice bully without even knowing it. If you accuse them of practicing bully they say “we were just joking around” or something like that. But the truth is that it doesn’t really matter what you think you’re doing, but how the person you’re doing to whatever you’re doing is feeling. Some of these bullies don’t even care about practicing bully, they don’t care about causing harm, they merely want to dodge the label “bully” because society condemns it. They just don’t want to be frowned upon by the others. They might even get to the point of saying that that person is a sissy for taking so seriously something that was “just a joke”.

No one should ever make any joke that seems to hurt another person, it doesn’t matter if for you it is just a joke.

Taking and Giving Criticism

I think a lot about the importance of acknowledging what is wrong with us, look at ourselves, understand why we act in a certain way, why we think what we think, it’s through the introspection that we can dissolve our negative emotions and see the world from other perspectives therefore having control upon our happiness and our wealth in a general way. We need to change, evolve, become better persons. No one is perfect, but we should always try to become by looking at ourselves, noticing what we need to improve and improving it. If someone is asked to point out if something is wrong with them they might even say that they don’t do anything wrong, they’re good people, they don’t still, they’re against violence, they don’t use drugs, etc. But do they recycle? Do they help the poor? Do they work really hard towards their dreams? Do they waste time whining about how everything is going wrong for them instead of taking action to make things go right? There will be always something new and valuable to learn in life.

However, there are situations in which it is impossible for us to see our own flaws and then the opinions of others become essential. Sometimes we are too proud to be able to see our flaws, what we need to change, we may criticize others, but never ourselves, even if we are just like these persons. What is it worth for to see everything the others need to change if we are not capable of seeing ourselves?

In such occasions it’s important to take in consideration someone else’s opinions about ourselves, however, due to our pride instead of thinking if this person is correct and change the defects pointed out we feel insulted and ignore what she has to say, understand this as judgment and act as noble saying that no one has the right to judge, claim that only God can judge, it’s ironic, if they thought for a second about this they would see that if they are calling someone judgmental they are judging too. No one can spend their entire lives without ever having a bad opinion about someone, some may not say it out loud, but they think and omit opinions that despite of being negative might do some good to someone if they know how to take it. To those is important to know the point of view of those who criticize them, acknowledge that we all have defects and apply what we learned in our lives. People have so much afraid of hurting one’s ego that even leave aside one’s happiness and purpose of life.

If each of us simply looked at the mistakes of others and never our own the world is never gonna change. Who would take action if everyone is just pointing out each others’ mistakes?

But despite of that it’s important to point out others’ flaws, help them in what they need, but that without insulting, there are those who don’t know how to do it, get angry when they hear a wrong statement or when they see a flaw in someone without even considering the possibility that this person may not even be conscious of this flaw and end up insulting her angrily. Other times they stick to their opinion that the others are the ones who are wrong and only they are correct, when in fact the mistake is theirs for being incapable of respecting others’ way of thinking. I see a lot of this in the world and it really frustrates me. Could it really be that hard to understand that people go through different experiences and influences and that makes them think in different ways? Or that sometimes people don’t have control over their emotions and might make mistakes unconsciously? It’s also important to not see every little thing as a flaw. Be aware of what you’re saying and thinking. And if what for you is a mistake, but it's actually just the next person's point of view, learn to respect it.

It’s important to know how to criticize without offending and receive critics without feeling offended. This could make a great difference in people and consequently in the world.

No one can grow in life without critics, without seeing what you need to change about yourself.

The world is not perfect it needs to be criticized in order to change. The mistakes must be pointed out and actions must be taken.

No one is perfect, so what do you need to do to improve?

Google First

You should never assume that there's no way to get what you want. At least google first before coming to a conclusion.

Many times people just assume that there’s no way for them to get what they want without even searching a little about it before coming to a conclusion. Even nowadays in the age of globalization with all the overflowing of information, they take as non-existing what they don’t know. Which is a terrible mistake because they could solve a problem just by typing on google what they want, when there actually isn’t a way to get what they want many times there might be a very good alternative. And in the process of searching you may also find many other interesting things.

A few years ago I started studying Japanese, after a year I still hadn’t learned much, I was frustrated because of that so I decided to google the following: “accelerated learning of languages” and at first I thought that there was no such thing, I thought I wouldn’t find anything I just google because I didn’t have anything else to do and for my surprise I ended up finding a lot of things, I learned about many language learning techniques and all kinds of things that speed up the learning process, techniques like suggestopedia, how it’s a bad idea to study grammar, softwares like Anki, management of time, websites that help a lot in the process such as LingQ and Memrise among other things.

Many times we may think that there’s no way something is possible but you should never just assume that it’s impossible whatever it is, at least do some research first. Books are definitely the most complete source of information, but internet is the best way if you’re trying to find out if something is possible, trying to get to know something. You can always ask friend as well or a librarian, whatever you prefer. Let’s say you wanna go to college and pay nothing, Europe for instance has some great universities that accept students from many parts of the world with English classes, let’s say you wanna read faster, speed reading, photoreading and reading genius 2.0 would certainly be of great service for you. If you want a completely safe way to treat mental health issues, Bach flower essences might work.

It’s clear however that not always you’ll find exactly what you’re looking for, yet you shouldn’t give up, sometimes you may find an excellent alternative. Let’s say you wanna fly and have all kinds of superpowers, lucid dreaming can be a great alternative and as surprising as this might sound, it can be extremely vivid. For those who don’t know lucid dreaming is the ability to become conscious while you’re dreaming and control your dreams. Don’t underestimate lucid dreaming just for not being real ‘cause once you’re in there everything is. And in fact lucid dreaming alone could cover a wide range of things you want, but think it’s impossible such as entering your favorite TV show, have sex without any guilt (though this one I think it’s still wrong, but that’s just me), eat the most extravagant meals in the world, turn into a vampire or werewolf, visit another planet and a bunch of other things, the possibilities are as limited as your imagination; If you want a snake pet, but you’re vegetarian or is just uncomfortable about throwing poor mice for an animal to eat, there are species of snakes that feed of eggs such as dasypeltis scabra, dasypeltis abyssina, and others that feed of insects such as Black-Headed Snakes (Tantilla) and Snail-Eating Snakes (Sibon).

Many times you can find a way to do what you want even if it seems impossible.

Never assume something is impossible, you don’t know what you don’t know. Just in case GOOGLE IT!!!

The Last Farmer in Fukushima's Post Nuclear Wasteland

Two years since the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant went into full meltdown, and the resulting 20km evacuation zone was enforced, one farmer still remains behind braving high levels of radiation and loneliness to tend to abandoned animals.

His name is Naoto Matsumura, and he is the last man standing in the ghost town of Tomioka. Another farmer, Kenji Hasegawa's town of Iidate was also evacuated due to high levels of radiation, he sought refuge in temporary housing. Faced with a postnuclear world both these men share brutally honest views on the state of their lives, TEPCO, government inaction and some of the hardest situations they have had to face in the midst of overwhelming radioactivity.

It’s extraordinary. I admire so much people like that. This man is a true example to be followed. Many times we care only about ourselves and in the occasional circumstance of caring about others, we care only about our resemblances, we don’t even think of animals.
What makes a human deserves respect, rights, love and care is the fact that we have feelings and not shallow resemblance. What we have that makes us earn rights, animals have too.
Animals don’t deserve to be put in a position so inferior to ours.
Animals are not things they are beings, they deserve our help too whenever they need it. I only wish there were more people like that.
